Our Mission

Bringing Zimbabwe's best food to every door

Airplates was built to solve a simple but frustrating problem: too many incredible Zimbabwean restaurants and food vendors had no way to reach customers beyond those who could physically walk in. Meanwhile, customers were limited to whichever chains had delivery apps.

We built a platform that gives every food business β€” from the sadza vendor in Mbare Market to a fine-dining restaurant in Borrowdale β€” a professional digital presence, a full ordering system, and a network of reliable riders to get their food to customers anywhere in the city.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Proudly Zimbabwean

Every feature, payment method, and operational decision is made with Zimbabwe's unique context in mind. We are local first, always.

πŸͺ

Empower Local Vendors

We are the digital storefront for local food businesses β€” giving them tools, reach, and revenue they could never build alone.

🏍️

Rider-First Culture

Our riders are partners, not gig workers. We pay fairly, train thoroughly, and invest in their safety and wellbeing on every shift.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

Wrong order? Cold food? We resolve it immediately β€” no lengthy processes, no arguing with support bots. Every single time.

Our Story

How Airplates Started

Airplates started from a shared experience that many Zimbabweans know well β€” wanting great local food but having no reliable way to get it delivered. The existing international apps didn't support local payment methods, didn't understand local cuisine, and didn't work reliably in our cities.

So we built Airplates β€” a platform designed from day one for Zimbabwe. We built EcoCash and OneMoney support before anything else. We brought on local restaurant owners as advisors before writing a single line of code. We hired riders from local communities and trained them ourselves.

Today, Airplates powers hundreds of thousands of food deliveries every month across Harare and Bulawayo. From a home cook in Chitungwiza listing her famous mukaka wakakora to a growing chain of cloud kitchens in Avondale β€” every food business on Airplates has a story, and we're proud to help them tell it through great food.
